T. Munk: It's a thicker, slightly glossier paper roll. It comes with three, so they should last a while. To test, I bought a 2¼" x 16' coreless paper roll. It barely fits in there, width-wise, and the print quality isn't nearly as good. It does seem that the paper that came with the camera may be specially formulated to show more detail, if such a thing is possible. There are lots of settings I can mess around with in the camera, so further testing is required.

Heh, I just got the one you sent last night - just in time to take pictures all night while I did a recording session with The Brother. I *LOVE* this silly thing! :D I also just ordered a box of the replacement thermal rolls - I can see going through this stuff quickly (: Thank You! :D

Oh! This is excellent. I knew you would love it. After playing with the settings, I settled on a density of 5 and Dot Matrix print quality. Now, the question is: did you leave the sound on? :D Sincerely, Gregory Short

Ohthankyou! Now set to "0" :D Just been typing *on* the photos with my Typestar 4. With some judicious background selection, this works quite well for captioning photos and carrying on a simple narrative for a series of photos. Also, some stamp pad inks will bleack out the photo where the stamp pad ink soaks in, giving you a "halo" effect around stampings and making them very clear even on dark backgrounds. Experiments continue...

Have y'all tried out the small pocket sized modern thermal printers? They come from brands like Phomemo and others. They usually come bundled with some sticker papers and what not. They can be controlled with an app, but I just tested putting one of my printed photos through it to reprint on top of the toy cam printed photos and it prints on them really well. Though there doesn't seem to be control of the font size... I'm going to play around and see what I can get from it. I run groups with middle school kids and teens and I let them have a go at the camera and they REALLY love it. We had so much fun just snapping photos of one another. I am ordering a big pack of paper because I'm going to run through it fast.
