This is off-topic but I couldn't figure out how else to reach you. You mentioned that thermal typewriters can work with thermal paper without a ribbon. Is that true for all of them, specifically a Canon Typestar 90? I want to get one but I need it to work with thermal paper without having to bother with ribbons. Thanks for your response(s).

Bob: You've probably long-since given up on a reply, but hopefully you took the plunge and got yourself a thermal typer anyway. Yes, all thermal typewriters will work on thermal paper without a ribbon. That's the MAGIC. I'd love to hear which one you pick up!
